AbstractThe research objective was to find out the effect significantly from implementation of Metacognitive Strategy on reading comprehension students. The researchers formulated problem “Does strategy affect students’ comprehension?”. In this research, students SMK Swasta Yapim Medan chosen as sample in research.In applied experimental research. This done by applying group (applying Strategy) and controlled (without using quantitative approach. used study 72 35 were group. From data it known that total score after conducting post-test 2,714. After found mean 77.54. There 37 scores doing session 2.526. 68.27. independent t-test. t-table lower than t-test (t-table = 3.563 < 7.693). Meanwhile significance (p) 0.001. showed 0.001 0.005 (p 0,005). researchers, H1 can be accepted H0 is rejected. findings significant because p<0.005. result explained above, gave a conclusion comprehension, had affected students.Key Words: Effect, Strategy, Reading Comprehension
